Melissa “Mel” Yourich was born and raised in rural southwestern Pennsylvania. Immediately after graduating from high school at 17, she entered the U.S. Air Force where she received an honorable discharge in 1992. Afterwards, she worked her way through community college for an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, and she continues to earn her living in IT.
Mel always had a creative heart but didn’t channel her creativity until later in her life when she began playing guitar at age 38. She even wrote her first songs only knowing three chords. Later, she became acquainted with audio recording, even opening GirlFriends Studios in Hagerstown, Maryland. Later, she became interested in videography. She filmed local bands for exposure and landed several gigs filming live performance videos.
Mel found that story board style music videos were much more challenging and fun. She began thinking about making her first story board music video in 2014, gathering video footage from her home town and anywhere else she saw that would fit into her work. Compilation for her first story line music video began in early 2015 and she has finally completed it in early 2016.
